Abstract: |
Probable archaeological deposits and features consist, in summary, of prehistoric alluvial deposits; the Middle Saxon foreshore, waterfront and possible occupation; the medieval Savoy palace, ancillary buildings and waterfront; the Tudor Hospital of St John the Baptist; post-medieval dwellings and converted hospital buildings; Wren's military prison, the Calvinist church; and German Lutheran church and burial ground. Further investigation is necessary to determine the exact nature and depth of such deposits. [Au(abr)] |
