Abstract: |
The watching brief identified 19th century garden features. More significantly was the presence of undated post holes and a ditch. All the features were filled with an ochre soil different in character from the surviving top/subsoils. Although the features remained technically undated, it was suggested that they were invariably of considerable antiquity. The likeliest interpretation for the features would be as art of the Neolithic settlement already known in the area. [AIP] |
