Abstract: |
Despite extensive areas of cellaring and modern basements, some area of apparently undisturbed ground apparently survive within the footprint of the proposed development, and will be destroyed by new basementing. Although relatively small, surviving archaeology within these areas area likely to be largely 'backland' deposits containing rubbish pits with potential for yielding information on diet and economy for this area of the medieval town. There is also the potential for the survival of similar features and deposits from the 17th and 18th centuries. [Au(abr)] |
