Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken and revealed that much of the site had been cleared recently with layers of demolition material directly overlying natural deposits. However, in trench eight structural remains of a building, with two constructional phases and associated floor surfaces, survived. The building represented a part of the Hawk's Warehouse complex (material deposits and structures from Hawk's Iron Works were expected on site) which was in existence from 1840 at the latest. The building was demolished in the late 19th century. [Au(adp)] |
