Abstract: |
On 18th to early-19th century cartographic sources, the site lay within fields on the outskirts of Kidderminster. It occupied a positon near the top of a large hill (Constitution Hill) which dominated the valley within which the historic town of Kidderminster was sited. In 1852 a railway was built and the proposed site lay adjacent to one of it goods sheds (which now houses the Railway Museum). Mid to late 19th century maps showed the site as being allotments. In c.1918 the land was used for the site of a corn mill. By 1924 there was quarrying undertaken on the site which appeared to have removed the entire top of the hill. [AIP] |
