Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of a fishing lake. The site lay within an area with rich archaeological remains, and lay some 250 metres from the Iron Age fort known as Bulbury Camp. Although nothing of archaeological significance was found, the presence of rich peat and alluvial deposits demonstrated ideal conditions for the survival of important palaeoenvironmental evidence.
