Abstract: |
The archaeological building survey created an initial record of the buildings and structures in their current state and also led to a greater understanding of their functions and development. The evaluation of the site of the Rowe Building and reservoir revealed slate bedrock less than 0.5m below the existing surface. Compacted cobbled surfaces were revealed along the frontage of Foundary Lane and in the southern part of the area, probably representing yard surfaces. Part of a linear feature, probably a ditch, was recorded in Trench 2.[Au(abr)] |
