Abstract:
A watching brief was maintained during shaft capping and mine safety works at the South Crofty and Cook's Kitchen Mines. Works at eight shafts were observed but only a backfilled openwork or gunnis, a balance bob pit and the remains of a winding engine house boiler pond were identified. [AIP]
