Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site which lay on the edge of the historic core of Witney. Activity dating from the prehistoric period onwards had occurred on the gravel terraces of the nearby River Windrush. During the evaluation, an undated post hole and a probable post-medieval ditch were recorded, and a sherd of post-medieval pottery was recovered. It was concluded that the site had no archaeological potential. [AIP] |
