Abstract: |
<summary>Archaeological recording undertaken during the restoration of Littlejohns Barrow - which had been truncated by a cable trench through its centre and a haul road across its right side - revealed that the barrow shared a number of features in common with six other barrows on the St Austell granite, excavated in the early 1970s. Similarities included a possible stone ring-bank, a central pit for ritual offerings or burial, a turf mound and distinctive yellow clay capping. Once recording had been completed the barrow was re-profiled to form a one metre high circular mound. {italon}Sec(abr)(28a){italoff} |
