Abstract: |
Two sites which are at risk include a section of possible Roman Road and a Viking burial site. Of the other sites identified during the desk-based assessment, the two farm sites Carter House and Eidsfirth Higher, of post-medieval or possibly earlier dates, are at risk, as well as the remains of Grove Cottage, and possibly the remains of Barnacre Hall. The walkover survey confirmed that three significant field systems, of possible medieval or post-medieval date are directly under threat. Significant earthworks remain for sites found only from the tithe map field names. [Au(abr)] |
