Abstract: |
Archaeological excavation in the areas of developers' groundworks, and a watching brief revealed and recorded further parts of the medieval town defences, including walls and the base of a tower. The line and thickness of the town wall was determined. Stone walls were exposed by groundworks on both sides of Winkle Street. A stone drain, probably God's House Conduit, was also revealed. [Au] |
