Abstract: |
Assessment of the archaeological implications of the proposed demolition of the existing church and the rebuilding of a church and community buildings identified that although no archaeological site had previously been recorded in the development area, the site was of high archaeological potential. This potential was mostly derived from the location of the site within the historic core of Oakham, close to known archaeological sites and important standing buildings and in the general area of known Roman and prehistoric settlement.
