Abstract:
A range of features were identified on the 179.01 hectare site proposed for development by English Partnerships. These consisted of two prehistoric or Romano-British cropmark enclosures, remains relating to the medieval and post-medieval West Hartford Estate, and post-medieval coal mining remains. The remains were stated to be of local/regional importance. Further work was deemed necessary on a number of the sites to evaluate them more fully, and to determine the likely impact of development.
