Abstract: |
<summary>Evaluation was undertaken to record and observe features initially revealed by a geophysical survey in 1989. Prior to the site being stripped of topsoil a fieldwalking programme was initiated. The survey produced a lack of good archaeological material, indicating that the site was probably archaeologically sterile. Once the site was stripped, an assessment of features visible on the surface was undertaken; this located the anomalies revealed by the geophysical survey and showed them to be of a geological nature. The material retrieved from the surface did indicate some prehistoric presence at the site, but only of a transitory nature. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
