Abstract: |
The assessment and subsequent evaluation showed that the site contained significant archaeological deposits from the early medieval phase of the farm, despite the eastern half being badly disturbed. The most significant remain were those of a sunken-floored building and some undated ditches. The building was broadly dated to the late Anglo-Saxon or early medieval period. The ditches were thought to be part of an enclosure system. The farm was in use until the modern period, however modernisation in the 1950s led to the destruction of many of the medieval and post-medieval features identified from the documentary evidence.
