Abstract: |
<summary>A desk-based study and preliminary survey was undertaken of the remains of mining at Wheal Tye, to guide proposed shaft-capping, land reclamation and site presentation. Four main zones of activity were identified, comprising: the early surface workings on peripheral lodes on the lower northern slopes; the early dumps and lode-back pits of the two main lodes in the centre; the line of the 19th century shafts, dumps, dressing floors etc, towards the south; and the 1927 prospect complex of Vivian's Shaft. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
