Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was carried out on a plot of land at the rear of Church Street, Calne. The evaluation recorded the presence of deposits of 5th to 7th Anglo-Saxon possibly associated with clearance over the site prior to building construction or cultivation. Medieval features and deposits included much artefactual and ecofactual material. The archaeological potential of the site was described as being high, with a great probability of further medieval occupation deposits, as well as Anglo-Saxon deposits. [Au(abr)]
