Abstract: |
The results of the watching brief reaffirmed the history of the site as outlined in the 2004 evaluation. Roman pottery sherds were the earliest remains located, followed by deep rubbish pits dating to the 16th/17th centuries. A series of dumps and levelling deposits were contemporary with this. The only structural remains recorded were from the 18th century onwards and included a brick cess pit or soakaway, several brick walls, a capped well and two culverts. [Au(adp)] |
