Abstract:
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of the construction of a hotel, car park and access road. A small amount of material of medieval date was recorded from the topsoils and an early-19th century cess pit was exposed and recorded. No trace of an Anglo-Saxon inhumation cemetery discovered nearby in 1883 was found in the development area. [Au]
