Abstract: |
Residual Roman activity on the site was represented by two sherds of pottery found within later contexts. The presence of ridge and furrow showed that the site was cultivated in the medieval period and the cartographic evidence showed that the land behind the properties fronting Low Green was used as garths, meadow and orchard in the mid 19th century. In modern times, landscaping and cultivation masked most of the past medieval activity. [Au] |
