Abstract: |
The evaluation consisted of four trenches, excavated in advance of the proposed redevelopment at Canterbury College. The area under investigation seemed to have been subject to extensive reduction and then landscaped. Stake holes and pits were identified but none could definitely be interpreted as being pre-Victorian in date, although the stake holes in trenches one and three could have been earlier in date. Based on the results of this and other assessments/evaluations it seemed most likely that any archaeological remains within the study area were of local significance only. [Au(adp)] |
