Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken as a result of a pre planning enquiry for the proposed Pedigree Petfoods factory extension. The assessment indicated that the site was located close to known sites of archaeological significance. It was in a known area of medieval, prehistoric, Roman and Anglo-Saxon settlement. The report concluded that buried archaeological deposits, if any existed, may be affected by the proposed development and therefore the planning authority may require further archaeological work on the site.
