Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring was undertaken during the excavation of test pitting, part of a programme of soil investigations in advance of redevelopment. There was an apparent deepening of the sand layers from soth-east to north-west. This may have reflected a certain amount of reworking to the landscape associated with either the power station of the new complex of buildings now occupying the top of the hill. Alternatively it could have constituted the infilling of a natural valley running into the estuary. [Au(adp)] |
