Abstract: |
The survey and fieldwalking exercise was concentrated on the New Close Knotts area overlooking Goredale. The survey work revealed a large number of sites including medieval field boundaries, agricultural enclosures and prehistoric cairns, as well as an anomalous 'frying pan' shaped structure which constituted a walled cairn with elongated entrance.
