Abstract: |
Archaeological recording was undertaken following the discovery of human burials during building work on land documented as being within the boundary of a monastic settlement, and to the north of the earthworks of a possible Iron Age Hillfort. The burials represented part of a christian cemetery which probably was related to an early church or monastery. An underground probably later water cistern, possibly relating to buildings that post-dated the burials but pre-dated the present house, was also recorded. [Au(adp)] |
