Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief, walkover survey with two area of excavation on a c. 20 km pipeline cut located prehistoric flint assemblages from four sites, and a series of Bronze and Iron Age post holes near Ninham Withybed, Lake. A cobbled Roman period floor, wall foundations and other Roman materials were found near Yaverland. Early medieval post holes were also found near Yaverland and scatters of medieval pottery was found at four sites from possible manure scattering. The Victorian sea wall at Ventnor Esplanade was also investigated.[Au(adp)] |
