Abstract: |
Following the identification of a number of pit features during a watching brief on groundworks for the construction of the A30 Indian Queens-Fraddon road improvement, further excavation was undertaken. A cluster of 13 large pits close to Highgate ritual enclosure and Little Gaverigan barrow, all of which had been recut, were revealed. A number of the pits were found to contain smaller postholes set within them. The site was interpreted as representing some form of ritual alignment, probably a further component of the ritual landscape setting of the adjacent sites. [AIP] |
