Abstract: |
The evaluation trench identified a series of deposits and features. The earliest feature was a small ditch, this was cut by a large ditch which contained 14th century pottery. This ditch may have formed part of the neighbouring castle defences. Three late medieval pits cut the ditch. Stone foundations and masonry rubble were also found on the site possibly from a 17th century structure. [Au(abr)] |
