A watching brief was maintained on groundworks at the site. Roman finds were recovered from a number of layers and features, including a very large post hole. A large amount of unstratified Roman material was also recovered from the topsoil. Part of the course of a limestone flint wall, probably the perimeter wall of the Roman settlement was also observed.
