Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation in advance of the determination of a planning application revealed a number of inter-cutting medieval features in the area between the Lydney Institute building and the High Street. Remains of a brick-structure of post-medieval date, possibly associated with Lydney Furnace, and layers of 18th century or later date were also identified, although this evidence did not suggest the presence of significant post-medieval deposits within the proposal area.
