Abstract: |
The Stage 2 archaeological evaluation of a second zone of the proposed Northacre Business Park involved the machine-excavation of 20 trial trenches. There was very little evidence for archaeological activity in any of these, the only subsoil deposits or features present comprising a sequence of alluvial deposits and a tree bowl with associated disturbance. There were also a few artefacts recovered, comprising a small quantity of medieval pottery and prehistoric worked flint, neither in sufficient numbers to suggest settlement activity in the vicinity.
