Abstract: |
Two trenches were excavated next to a Grade II Listed Building before its redevelopment. Trench one at the rear of the premises identified deposits created by land reclamation, sealed by a 18th century pavement. The rear of the present property was found to have formed part of the river wall. Trench two at the front of the house found that the present basement was contemporary with the 18th century house.
