Abstract: |
An intermittent watching brief was maintained during radical refurbishment works at the former Bell's Coffee House. Works involved gutting of the existing premises and the reduction of the basement floor level. It was evidence the house was originally of 18th century date but was extensively altered in the 19th and 20th centuries, the present shop front was of 19th century date and still substantially intact.
