Abstract: |
A Middle-Saxon timber-framed structure and a possible fence line were found. Small assemblages of pottery and animal bone of that date were also found. Evidence for medieval and post-medieval occupation which was probably associated with garden activity was excavated. Remains of 18th or early-19th century buildings were found. These would have been part of the 18th century almshouses or the workhouse that occupied the site. Substantial footings of the 19th century workhouse buildings were also excavated. [Au] |
