Abstract: |
<summary>Excavations were undertaken on an area previously examined by trial-trenches. The previous work had identified a disparity between the two linear elements comprising a double ditch feature; the 1992 excavations supported this conclusion. It appears that there were two phases of activity: a boundary ditch and perhaps a bank (now gone), alongside a hollow way with ruts at the base caused by traffic. The 1992 excavations provided strong evidence that both the ditch and trackway were of Romano-British date and had silted-up by medieval times. No further cremation evidence was identified. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
