Abstract: |
In 1993, following on from the 1992 field work, a programme of further research was undertaken. Extensive magnetometer survey was undertaken over several areas. Based on the results of this survey and the previous years research, two areas were excavated. The excavations successfully located and recorded two iron smelting sites together with an associated working hollow and post setting. The dating evidence put this smelting activity firmly in the late medieval period. [Au(abr)] |
