Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring was undertaken on the construction of a single storey classroom block. Observation of the ground reduction revealed a number of features that were probably associated with the gardens of the former Croxley House at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. The excavation of the footing trenches revealed further potential garden features as well as an underground chamber that may have dated to World War II. No archaeological evidence predating the Victorian period was recorded. [Au(abr)] |
