Abstract: |
The structures which occupied the site were part of the National Filling Factory No. 23, which was built in 1918. The suggested programme of works would have demolished these buildings and removed some of the last vestiges of the WWI remains from the site. Although the buildings themselves were of low architectural interest, it was their context and place within the wider factory site and the legacy of the Great War that needed to be appreciated and recorded.
