Abstract: |
The evaluation was carried out in advance of the conversion of a pub into residential dwellings. Part of a stone building of medieval date was revealed, as well as an associated stone surface. The structures were thought to represent an outbuilding associated with the White Hart. Also revealed were ditches and potential post hole alignments delineating boundaries of former properties on the site. The arrangement appeared to date to the late 19th century on the basis of the finds evidence. Residual sherds of medieval pottery from a 19th century feature was thought to suggest that medieval remains existed nearby. [Au(abr)] |
