Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during groundworks for the construction of a sports hall at a school, at a site which lay in the hinterland of an Iron Age hillfort. Romano-British coins and a burial had been found close to the site, and the route of a Roman road passed to the south. During the watching brief, a small number of soil features of indeterminate date and character were recorded, and residual pottery sherds of post-medieval and possible Romano-British date were recovered.
