Abstract: |
Archaeological recording was undertaken at Oddfellows Cottage during the construction of an extension to the rear of the property. Trenches forming the foundations of the building were excavated by machine to a width of about 0.70m and a depth of 1m below the existing ground level. The surface of the natural gravel clay was exposed throughout the excavations. This was overlain by an earlier cultivation layer, itself sealed by the modern topsoil. No archaeological deposits were identified during the groundwork. [Au(adp)] |
