Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in respect of a planning application. Made ground was found within the whole trench area all related to the raising of ground levels prior to the construction of the railway and associated infrastructure in the 19th century. A deposit of alluvium underneath the made ground was cut by a number of shallow archaeological features. The ditches and associated small pit and a possible post hole, were likely to have been medieval drainage ditches. [Au(adp)] |
