Abstract: |
Evidence of burial within this portion of the churchyard, after the removal of the chapel, was revealed in Trench A. In this, one grave had been cut through the backfill deposits of the east walls robber trench, whilst another had cut through a series of deposits used to level the surrounding ground surface. These levelling deposits contained late nineteenth century pottery, suggesting that unmarked burials continued to be placed in this portion of the churchyard at last until the close of the nineteenth century.
