Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment for proposed residential development and a new Defence Animal Centre HQ complex confirmed that the site was close to significant archaeological sites and was, therefore, an area of archaeological potential. The area was extremely close to Sysonby Grange (a Scheduled Ancient Monument) in the north and Synonby village to the south. It was also within a known area of prehistoric and Anglo-Saxon settlement.
