Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment of the route of a proposed water pipeline was undertaken. A number of Neolithic flint flakes and scrapers had been found to the south of the route, and a Roman funerary urn, found within a grave containing some bones, had been recorded near the study area in the 19th century. A walkover survey of the site was conducted, but no archaeological constraints were identified from this or from the documentary research. However, it was agreed that the stripped easement should be monitored and certain areas observed during the cutting of the pipe trench. [AIP] |
