Abstract: |
Works which included the capping of two open shafts, site clearance, excavation of contaminated mine waste from spoil heaps and reprofiling of overburden to reduced levels was undertaken through the Derelict Land Grant Scheme. A previous archaeological assessment had outlined the areas of archaeological potential. Features relating to the post-medieval use and development of the site were recorded. [AIP] |
