Abstract: |
Excavations for a new telephone duct revealed an extensive area of tar-soaked wooden blocks laid on concrete, immediately below the tarmac, set with their grain vertical. They were likely to date from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. A thick substructure for these features was also noted. [Au(adp)] |
