Abstract: |
The principle archaeological interest in the area lay in the Civil War earthwork, the Lipson Line. The precise alignment of the defences was lost, however, aerial photographs showed the location of a bastion or outwork some 250 metres to the north-east of the present development site. Observation of drain ditches and foundations elsewhere on the site provided no indications for any other activity associated either with the defences or from any other earlier period.[Au(abr)] |
