Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological observation, investigation and recording was undertaken during groundworks associated with the erection of a single-storey dwelling. Monitoring of the site strip, the new access and the bungalow foundation revealed a series of deposits relating to the post-medieval period. One probable late medieval cobbled path was noted lying in the base of the house foundation trenches, which ran west to east for a visible distance of 13.40m. Natural boulder clay was encountered and fragments of ceramic brick material dating to the late 17th/18th century was also recovered. [Au(adp)] |
